Ground Chillies-A Traditional Grindding

As I was born as an Indonesian woman and grown up in its culture, ground chillies is not something new for me.

It is an important part of daily cooking. It is used as one of the ingredients in many kinds of Indonesian cuisines.

It can be the main course of a lunch or dinner. In my case, I can even eat a plate of rice with the cooked-ground chillies as the only menu served.

So, how to process chillies to be a ground chillies?

Let's take a look at the video below. This is how the chillies are ground at my home. It is a traditional grindding.


After finishing the grindding process, the chillies will be looked like in the picture below.
*The ground chillies as in the picture is ready to be cooked with other ingredients such as fried salted fish, chicken flesh, and many others. It is usually called "Sambal".


Then, what are needed to make the ground chillies? 
Here is one of simple recipes that you can follow^^

Ground Chillies for Cooking "Sambal"

Ingredients:
9 chillies (break into two)
2 red onions
1 garlic
Salt to taste
Water to taste


Tools:
Grindding stone
Measuring cup
A plate
A spatula
